Tourism Society Appoints New CEO

UNITED KINGDOM, September 1, 2005. Sue Finch has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of The Tourism Society, the leading membership organisation for professionals in the travel and tourism industry.

Sue's experience of the industry includes policy and development with the English Tourist Board and as founder and first Chief Executive of the Holiday Care Service. As Tourism Manager with local authorities in Surrey, she has developed and delivered strategies focusing on marketing, partnerships and development. She also has a strong educational background as both subject manager for the tourism GNVQ and AVCE qualifications and as a Master of Science in Tourism.

Sue joins the Tourism Society at a challenging time for the industry and in an exciting period leading up to the 2012 Olympics. The Tourism Society is also embarking on a consultation project to determine the shape and content of a new Tourism Act. She is looking forward to taking the Society into the future whilst maintaining the standards of excellence for which it is known here in the UK and overseas.
