AG Hotel Group Plans Q3 Opening of New Five-Star Hotel, Il Tornabuoni, in Florence, Italy

Italy, Rome. June 16, 2020

AG Group proudly announces the unveiling of IL Tornabuoni, the group's first five star luxury hotel, due to open in Q3 2020 in Florence, Italy. With the addition of this new property in the Italian Renaissance city, AG Group's AG Hotels collection will expand to offer guests a 5-star luxury hotel in Florence and ten 4-star boutique hotels in Rome.

Located along Florence's Via Tornabuoni in the historic 12th century Palazzo Minerbetti, one of the city's oldest palazzo residences, the five-star luxury IL Tornabuoni welcomes guests with 62 prestigious rooms and suites, set amidst four floors in the heart of the historical city center. Milano architect Andrea Auletta has overseen the project's interior design, as he has done for each of AG Group's hotels in Rome. Each floor has been outfitted with a distinct regal color including vibrant teals, deep blues, sunny yellows, energetic vermillion and soft greys. Most rooms and suites will offer two double beds for guests, a rarity found in much of Italy and Europe. F&B venues include a rooftop gourmet restaurant with terrace overlooking Santa Maria Novella, San Frediano, Oignissanti Church and the many other beauties in Florence's Renaissance skyline and a Champagne Bar, serving bubbles from only the most sought after Italian and French maison. Mr. Fernando Pane has been appointed GM of the new property, having most recently been at Il Pellicano as Resort Manager.

In addition to IL Tornabuoni, AG Group opened the 13-room boutique four-star Campo Marzio hotel earlier this year in February 2020, an intimate haven tucked away in Palazzo Magnani, an 18-century palazzo in Rome's famous Campo Marzio neighborhood. Also designed by Andrea Auletta, the rooms feature an eclectic and colorful style, many boasting two double beds and views of Campo Marzio or the palazzo's internal garden courtyard. The hotel is also home to the CORDIALE Liquor House & Shop, Rome's only high-end boutique liquor locale which features and sells solely Italian liquors, cordials and Italian products. CORDIALE offers breakfast to guests in the morning and continues to delight throughout the day into the. evening hours with light dishes, a full array of cocktails, liquor tastings and exclusive parties.

AG Group is Italy's first Italian-owned hospitality group capable of providing all aspects of demand for tourism in-house with boutique hotels, DMC/ tour operator & event management, hotel consultancy, culinary outlets and retirement homes. The group was formed in June 2019 by entrepreneur Andrea Girolami, the company's Founder and President who brings over twenty years' experience in tourism and hospitality. The formation of the AG Group brand, which takes its name from its founder's initials, was a merger between incoming tourism companies which Girolami had previously created and directed. These included RSI Italy, a DMC now known as AG Boutique Journey; MAG Hotels, a portfolio of 4-Star boutique hotels in Rome's city center now known as AG Hotels; Italy Hotels Collection, a hotel consulting & revenue management firm now known as AG Hotel Consulting; Diana's Place, a chain of gourmet bistros each with their own extensively curated wine cellars, now known as AG Foodies, as well as a novice collection of luxury retreats for the elderly.

With a degree in Economics from Rome's ‘La Sapienza' University, Girolami began his career working for several renowned business consulting companies, focusing on global academic issues related to business strategy. Girolami's first entrepreneurial endeavor began in 2000 with the tour operator, RSI. The business quickly grew to establish itself as one of the most successful companies for incoming tourist services within Italy. In ten years, RSI grew five times its size and developed into five separate divisions to address increasing demand including group travel, FIT travel, corporate and events, luxury travel and weddings. The success of RSI encouraged Girolami to promote diversification of his business through the launch of new initiatives. In 2011, he purchased his first 4-star property in Rome and in 2015, he started his hotel management and consulting company. Diana's Place Bistrò, a gourmet restaurant offering a refined casual environment opened in Rome in 2017.
