Kalyan Hospitality Welcomes Brian Sciberras!

USA, Richmond, Virginia. July 21, 2020

Kaylan Hospitality welcomes Brian Sciberras as the opening General Manager for the Residence Inn Short Pump at the Notch. Brian has actively been involved in the hospitality industry for over 13 years. He is a General Manager veteran and has worked in four different Marriott brands in various roles. He most recently served as the Managing Director for Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel where he was responsible for leading a team in which the hotel was adjacent to the 4th largest Convention Center in the nation, Las Vegas Convention Center. Brian has an accomplished background in the Virginia hotel industry defined by his tenure and strength. Previous positions include Dual General Manager at the Courtyard & Residence Inn Richmond Downtown, as well as Assistant General Manager at the Richmond Marriott Downtown.

Brian was awarded Rookie GM of the year in 2017 and GM of the year in 2018. He has held memberships in the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging, and Travel Association in which he held the position of Vice President for the Richmond Chapter. This will be Brian's third hotel opening of a Marriott branded hotel.

Brian is a Michigan native, and is also a University of Michigan State University graduate. Brian is based in Richmond, Virginia, and is a husband and father of 4 children ages 18, 13, 7, and 6. He is a proud father that is sending his 18-year-old daughter to VA Tech to run Track and Field, and can't wait to visit and watch her race. When he gets time away from the hotel Brian enjoys golfing, cycling, and time by a bonfire with family and friends.

The Residence Inn Short Pump at the Notch will be Goochland County's first hotel, and Brian is excited to be a part of Goochland's economic development. The development aspect Brian is most excited for is getting to establish the Residence Inn's culture from the ground up, and he plans to make giving back to the community of Goochland County a key feature. Partnerships with local businesses and organizations, such as Goochland Cares, will be a unique characteristic of the Residence Inn's culture.

The extended stay design for the hotel includes a pullout sofa bed, a king size bed, and a full kitchen fully equipped with everything one needs to cook a full meal and feel at home. These features benefit guests needing short- and long-term housing when traveling to and from the area for certain needs. With Covid19, the benefit of having a brand-new hotel with beds that have never been slept on, paired with Marriott and Kalyan Hospitality's well-researched cleaning procedures, is incomparable.

The Residence Inn creates spaces that give room for possibility, creates experiences that create meaningful connections, and hires employees who take pride in taking things personally. The Residence Inn Short Pump at the Notch cannot wait to open its doors to the public in September 2020.
