Boutique Awards Now Open for Submission
From Boutique Hotels to Boutique Experiences to Individuals, the Award Categories Run the Gamut of the World's Best
The industry's official association to global boutique hotels and boutique businesses has opened their annual Awards nomination site at blla.org/awards. The 2020 Awards, curated by BLLA and StayBoutique, include categories for places, and also one for an Emerging and Iconic individual.
The nominations process includes an application, processing of a $50 fee and a series of questions which will be reviewed by the Awards Judges at completion of the nominations which ends at midnight on April 13, 2020.
Announcement of the winners will occur on June 1st. The Award winners will be honored during a celebration luncheon in New York, the day after the Boutique Hotel Investment Conference by BLLA, along with top media and press as well as the association's Board of Advisors and Sponsors. For more information, please contact the association at [email protected].
These Awards have been authentically curated since 2010, when there were few Awards available to boutique hotels except for those pay-to-play types that include a requirement to make a purchase. Authenticity is important in this day and age and it has been a core value of the association's business model. The $50 fee helps to cover the cost of the Awards technology platform only. There isn't a stipulation to purchase a page in a book or purchase a ticket to the ceremony.
Nominations should be organized in advance of completing the questions on the Awards site. Ensuring an array of amazing images, social media sites, past Awards earned, and a clearly written description of why the person or business should win the Award is a crucial component for a chance to win. Incomplete submissions will be unable to move on to the Judging process.
Categories include: Boutique Hotels of the Year Boutique Hotel Projects of the Year (Program, Design, F&B, Wellness and Branding projects) Boutique Businesses of the Year Boutique Travel Businesses of the Year The Emerging and Iconic Hoteliers of the Year
The StayBoutique by BLLA awards program is one of the original platforms for showcasing boutique hotels and businesses and their milestones achieved during the past twelve months. Projects are not only judged by their design and operations, but also by the ethos behind each project. The awards aim to place illumination on the Boutique Community's achievements. Hosted by the official association for Boutique Hotels and Businesses, the StayBoutique Awards program by BLLA is the industry's most daring and authentic stage for celebrating achievement.
Entries will be judged by key travel leaders, who have vast travel experience around the world and/or who have first-hand expertise on the boutique lifestyle. Notable past winners include Soho House Miami Beach, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, Lauren Rottet, Collective Retreats, Arlo Hotel Soho, the Art-a Hotel, 1 Hotel Central Park, Poppy, The Hospital Club, The High Line Hotel and Absolut Elyx.
