Key Executives Appointed for New Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Centric Hotels Opening in Portland, Oregon
Ahead of the winter openings of Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center and Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland, the hotels announce executive appointments for their leadership teams.
Hospitality veteran Shane Nicolopoulos has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, slated to open December 19, 2019. In his new role, Nicolopoulos will oversee all property and opening operations for the hotel including 600 well-appointed guestrooms, an estimated 300 colleagues, and all food and beverage operations. Nicolopoulos has grown his 20-year hospitality career with Hyatt, having held leadership positions with properties across the Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency and Andaz brands. Most recently, Nicolopoulos served as general manager of Andaz San Diego.
Scott Lane has been named general manager of Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland, set to open January 28, 2020. Lane will manage all property and opening operations for the 220-guest room hotel located in the heart of downtown Portland, including the on-property restaurant Masia. Throughout his 30-year career with Hyatt, Lane has grown from part-time front desk agent to general manager, most recently serving as regional vice president of sales for Hyatt. Prior to this role, he held positions as the area director of sales in Denver and San Antonio, director of sales and marketing at Grand Hyatt San Antonio, and director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.
Seasoned sales and marketing leader Justin Evans has taken on the role of area director of sales and marketing in Portland for Hyatt. In his new role, Evans will lead all pre-opening and opening sales and marketing efforts for Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center and Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland. During his 13-year career with Hyatt, Evans has held leadership positions with leading Hyatt Regency properties across the U.S. Most recently, he served as director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Columbus, where he managed all sales and marketing initiatives for the 633-room hotel.
