Outrigger Names Nakashima Corporate Director
Corporate Director of Risk Management & Insurance
HONOLULU, HI, January 8, 2006.Mel Wilinsky, EVP & CFO, Outrigger Enterprises Group, is pleased to announce that Neal Nakashima has joined the company as Corporate Director of Risk Management & Insurance for Outrigger Enterprises Group, effective immediately. In his position, Nakashima is responsible for overseeing the risk management and insurance functions locally and internationally for the entire organization.
Nakashima's extensive background in the insurance industry spans over 30 years having touched various aspects of insurance from implementing safety practices and personnel management, to handling property and liability claims, as well as claims management, underwriting, rating, and risk management. Before joining Outrigger, Nakashima worked for several distinguished insurance corporations including First Insurance Company of Hawaii, Ltd., Beck, Kudlich & Swartman, Inc., which in 1998 became part of Aon Risk Services. Nakashima is no stranger to Outrigger as he has been providing Outrigger with expert insurance guidance as an officer of Aon Risk Services, Inc. of Hawaii, the most recent position he held prior to joining Outrigger.
Nakashima is also very involved with the community. He has served as the President of the Hawaii Independent Insurance Agent's Association, as well as President of IBA West, the largest regional insurance brokers' and agents' association in the nation. In addition, he has provided insurance guidance to a number of local financial institutions, business owners and attorneys and has authored articles on a variety of insurance-related topics for the CAI (Community Association Institute), BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association), the Hawaii Real Estate Commission, and the Hawaii Bar Association.
