Encore Boston Harbor Appoints Robert DeSalvio as President

USA, Everett, Massachusetts. March 28, 2019

Encore Boston Harbor, a Five-Star, $2.6 billion gaming resort, is planning to open this summer, led by industry veteran Robert DeSalvio. The most anticipated resort opening in New England this year, Encore Boston Harbor will feature 671 hotel rooms, a 210,000-square-foot casino, state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces, an ultra-premium spa, and 15 dining and lounge venues, including award-winning food and beverage experiences, and new, innovative concepts.

Mr. DeSalvio joined Wynn Resorts Development in 2014, with 40 years of hotel experience. He helped to bring the proposed project to life in Everett, Massachusetts, and continues to lead the largest private, single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth as the President of Encore Boston Harbor.

Prior to joining Wynn Resorts, Mr. DeSalvio served as president of Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem in Pennsylvania, where he managed the development, construction, government relations and staffing of the resort prior to opening. With deep experience in hospitality and gaming, Mr. DeSalvio's career also includes executive positions at Sands Atlantic City and Foxwoods Resort Casino.

"There's significant gratification and pride in witnessing Encore Boston Harbor's impact throughout the past five years," said Robert DeSalvio, President of Encore Boston Harbor. "The project has yielded tremendous benefits for our host city, surrounding communities and the greater region, and will continue to do so for generations to come. Upon opening our doors this year, we will continue to deliver on local promises while inviting guests from around the world to experience an unprecedented level of luxury and excellence."

Since conception, Encore Boston Harbor has committed millions of dollars to support local nonprofits and help improve communities; pledged to hire a local and diverse workforce; supported women, veteran and minority-owned businesses; and funded the cleanup and revitalization of the Everett waterfront. Situated on the Mystic River overlooking the downtown Boston skyline, Encore Boston Harbor will open up the shoreline to the public for the first time in more than a century, creating a six-acre public park that will feature pedestrian and bicycle paths, an events lawn, and public viewing areas.
