Sheraton Dallas Hotel Begins Multimillion Dollar Transformation

Downtown Dallas' Largest Hotel to Introduce Redesigned Accommodations, Updated Amenities and New Culinary Offerings

USA, Dallas, Texas. August 22, 2018

The Sheraton Dallas Hotel, part of Marriott International Inc., announces it has begun construction of a multimillion dollar hotel-wide renovation of the downtown Dallas hotel and convention property.

A staple in the Dallas skyline, the hotel's location in downtown's vibrant Arts District has made it a favorite gathering place for businesses, as well as an ideal venue for local social events.

As Marriott International moves to transform the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts brand, the Sheraton Dallas Hotel will be at the forefront of this evolution as they renovate guestrooms, refresh meeting and event spaces, and bring new and updated culinary experiences to both guests and locals.

"The Sheraton Dallas Hotel is well positioned to deliver on the vision of our new brand experience," said Julius Robinson, Senior Vice President Classic Premium Brands at Marriott International. "Its deep roots within the city along with legacy of service can only be amplified by our new design strategy that welcomes guests and locals to gather and interact, offering collaboration spaces, productivity enabled technology and an engaging hotel community."

Construction will include a full renovation of all public areas including the lobby, porte-cochère and arrival entrance, and restaurants and bar. Additionally, 1,300 guest rooms (of 1,840 total rooms), bathrooms and hallways will be redesigned with a new aesthetic and furnishings. The hotel's meeting and convention space, which covers more than 230,000 square feet, will be refreshed with new lighting, painting and carpeting.

Offering a taste for every palate, the hotel is rebranding its food and beverage offerings to now include a redesigned Club Lounge; a reconcepted three-meal full-service restaurant; a craft cocktail bar; a marketplace, offering quick, healthy options for travelers on the go; and a terrace Biergarten; serving craft brews with a view from a terrace on the fourth floor. Draft Media Sports Lounge, the hotel's current sport bar will remain, but feature a refreshed look and revamped menu offerings.

"Our guests will benefit from our thoughtfully transformed enhancements throughout the hotel," said Mark Woelffer, General Manager at Sheraton Dallas. "We look forward to welcoming guests to experience the new Sheraton Dallas, which will become a gathering place for all."

The John Hardy Group is overseeing the project management for the construction. The Hospitality Studio at DLR Group, a global integrated design firm with a local Dallas presence, is leading interior design for the hotel's guestrooms, suites, and corridors and serving as the architect for the project's entire renovation. FlickMars, a hospitality design firm based in Dallas, designed the public spaces, conference and meeting spaces and the sports bar.

"We are thrilled to partner with Marriott International to revitalize downtown Dallas' largest hotel," says Nathan Asay, Senior Project Director at The John Hardy Group. "The refreshed Sheraton Dallas Hotel will serve as both a business center and community hub with new, impressive public spaces designed to help cultivate creativity, collaboration and respite."
