Sonoma Valley's Redesigned Kenwood Inn & Spa Unveiled Following Five-Month Renovation

A tranquil setting in Sonoma Valley, the boutique inn invites travelers to reimagined guestrooms, lobby, wine bar and public spaces, led by SALT + BONES design team

USA, Kenwood, California. April 05, 2018

MetWest Ventures, a private, multi-strategy investment firm, announced today the official reopening of Kenwood Inn & Spa. Inviting travelers to experience a Mediterranean-inspired hideaway in the heart of Sonoma Valley, the multi-million-dollar investment project was conceived and overseen by Michael Mohr, principal of MetWest Ventures, and executed in collaboration with SALT + BONES, Carmel, California-based integrated design studio. The property continues to be managed by Four Sisters Inns.

After five months of closure due to the Sonoma County wildfires, Kenwood Inn & Spa now features 29 refreshed guestrooms and suites, an updated lobby, and new wine bar and cabanas. The boutique inn is situated in the quaint town of Kenwood in Sonoma Valley, just 11 miles north of Sonoma and 15 miles from Napa Valley, making it an ideal destination for couples, friends, groups and business professionals to visit year round. Encompassing more than two and one-half acres of land, Kenwood Inn & Spa is surrounded by Northern California's top wineries and vineyards including Kunde Family Winery - directly across the street, Deerfield Ranch and Winery, Kenwood Vineyards, Muscardini Cellars, Repris wine, and VJB Vineyard & Cellars.

“Cherished for its hospitality and breathtaking surroundings, we are thrilled to welcome guests back to the beloved Kenwood Inn & Spa,” said Michael Mohr, principal of MetWest Ventures. “Our goal is always to enhance the guest experience. This redesign elevated the aesthetic and authenticity of the inn, and focused on creating the right canvas for guests to enjoy effortless, Italian luxury right here in Sonoma. We look forward to this next chapter being even more successful than the last.”

Designed with serenity in mind, Kenwood Inn & Spa features junior and executive suites, each with a separate entrance to ensure a private experience for all visitors. All accommodations are thoughtfully designed with fireplaces, featherbeds and Italian furnishings, and many suites feature views of the surrounding vineyards. The lobby has been updated with new millwork including an oak and black marble reception desk and custom key cabinet that have been designed to hold Italian-made tassel keys to each guestroom.

“Kenwood Inn & Spa is unlike any other property in Sonoma Valley. It is the perfect retreat after a day of wine tasting and tours, and an ideal secluded getaway in the California countryside,” said Scarlett Graham, general manager. “Our team looks forward to welcoming back longtime guests as well as introducing Kenwood hospitality to new ones.”

Kenwood Inn & Spa's public spaces include three lush courtyards accented with fountains, and a romantic heated pool with two private cabanas and two hot tubs. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and will find freshly baked cookies in their guestroom. Each morning, a complimentary breakfast is served in the inn's Italian-inspired cucina, and guests are invited to convene around the new 12-foot antique Italian walnut trestle table for family-style dining. At day's end, the inn hosts an afternoon Magic Hour, with wine and artisan cheese pairings near the pool or wine bar.

Kenwood Inn & Spa is currently renovating its meeting and private event space to provide groups and bridal parties with an expansive and elegant lounge. Additional upgrades include elevating its original wine cellar, intimate dining spaces and spa to mirror the new redesign of the property. The new spa will be completed in the summer of 2018; until then, guests can experience the inn's exclusive spa menu in an interim space.

Passport to Spring Package:

To celebrate the reopening, guests may book the Passport to Spring package, which includes 20 percent off regular room rates, a $50 spa credit per person (up to two), a complimentary bottle of wine upon check-in, and a Sonoma Passport for two, a passport membership providing exclusive offers to over 60 premier wineries throughout the region. Passport to Spring package rates start at $311, April through June; valid Sunday through Thursday evenings, based on availability.
